Patterns have always fascinated me. I still remember those moments of helplessness, when nothing made sense to me. The inexplicable feeling of hopelessness, as if there is no beginning or end to this ordeal. In those moments, I resorted to drawing odd patterns. The very thought of drawing something that made sense, that repeated itself was oddly satisfying to my troubled mind.
Later on I discovered that this odd exercise I had been doing was a well-known therapy for mental well being. Zentangle Method is an easy-to-learn relaxing and satisfying exercise of drawing structural patterns. Best part is that it is non-representational and unplanned so you can focus on each stroke, one at a time, without worrying about the result. In other words, mindfulness at its best!
I would highly recommend you all, to try this mind rejuvenating exercise and experience this precious blissful feeling. 😊
Also, Happy World Mental Health Day😊
“Art is the imposing of a pattern on experience, and our aesthetic enjoyment is recognition of the pattern.“
– Alfred North Whitehead
P.S. Do you like drawing patterns?
